Low-Power LTE Receiver Front-End Blocks in 28nm FDSOI CMOS

Abstract: 

Tunable capacitive feedback and broadband single-stage LNA circuits have been designed together with power-efficient LO distribution and high-linearity mixers for LTE portable receiver application. The designed blocks explore the possibilities offered by the advanced 28nm CMOS fully depleted silicon on insulator (FDSOI) process from STMicroelectronics. Power saving and frequency tuning have been achieved by body bias voltage control. FDSOI technology offers combined speed and power performance optimization in a down-scaled planar process.
