Printed Electronics Now: Acreo Devloping Energy Supply Toolkit for Energy Efficient Autonomous Sensor

19 December, 2016 - 08:33

Acreo looks to build a network of partners to collaborate on the concept.

Wireless sensor networks in industrial applications are challenging. Many implementations will not be realized if the batteries need to be harnessed with cables for power transmission. Energy harvesting technology is the key is to meet the rapidly growing demand for autonomous sensor systems, which need to be both energy efficient and cheap.

Acreo began work on its Energy Supply Toolkit on Nov. 1, 2016. The first phase aims to develop the concept of Energy Supply Toolkit, define the needs for specific industrial applications and to build a network of partners who can collaborate on the concept. Estimated completion date for the first phase being August 2017.
