On June 22, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Acreo Printed Electronics and the Korean Institute of Machinery and Materials, KIMM. This is a first step towards future collaborations in the development of the Printed Electronics Technology.

The Korean government has identified Printed Electronics as one of the future strategic research areas and invests considerable resources on developing the technology. KIMM, like Acreo in cooperation with LiU, has a broad base of knowledge within Printed Electronics; from material technology to production processes.

"Printed Electronics development is driven by several different international actors. For Acreo, a pioneer and a world-leading actor in the development of Printed Electronics, international cooperation is of utmost importance for knowledge sharing. Cooperation in focused efforts can more quickly achieve our common goal, to bring the technology to the level demanded by the market" says Leif Ljungqvist, director of Acreo Printed Electronics.

Together with the University of Linköping and Norrköping Science Park Acreo also runs the project Printed Electronics Arena, PEA. PEA is a VINNOVA-funded "VINNVÄXT initiative" designed to bring the Printed Electronics technology to market.

The meeting was attended by Leif Ljungqvist, director of Acreo Printed Electronics, Fredrik Gisle Invest Sweden, Dr. Sang-Chun Lee, president of KIMM, Dr. Jeongdai Jo director of Printed Electro-Mechanical Systems Research Center of KIMM and Deokkyun Yoon Researcher at KIMM.
