11th International conference on the scientific and clinical applications of magnetic carriers

Magnetic particles of nano- and micro-sized dimensions are an area of intense research. To bring together scientists from chemistry, physics, medicine, biology, engineering and materials sciences and discuss in a collaborative manner the applications in technology, preclinical research and diagnostic and therapeutic medicine, the MCM conference is organized every two year.

Christer Johansson, Acreo Swedish ICT, will give a talk about “Sensitive magnetic biodetection using magnetic multi-core nanoparticles and RCA coils” based on work from the FLU-ID-project. Acreo is also represented on several other posters (joint effort from the NanoMag project).

You are also welcome to the Quantum Design-booth where our DynoMag instrument will be exhibited and demonstrated.

The 2016 conference will cover the following topics:

Scientific Applications

  • Preparation and Modification of Magnetic Particles
  • Characterization of Magnetic Particles
  • Application in Cell Separation and Analysis
  • Applications in Molecular Biology

Clinical Applications

  • CancerTreatment
  • Hyperthermia
  • Magnetic Resonance Contrast Enhancement
  • Drug Delivery

Nanotechnology Applications

  • Micromechanical Systems (MEMS)
  • Magnetic nanotubes
  • Self-assembled magnetic nanosystems
