Wettability Switch

The surface energy of an electrochromic polymer can depend on the oxidation state of the polymer.  This has been demonstrated via a device that employs PANI to change the contact angle with a water droplet.

By switching the red/ox state of the conjugated polymer, the wettability at the surface of the polymer thin film is controlled. The wettability switch is developed in collaboration with the Group of Organic Electronics at Linköping University.
