Electronics designs are made with a variety of different CAD-tools. The more formats that we can accept the smoother we can make the masks. But before we can make the masks we must convert the data from whatever format the customer provides us with into the format that "Heidi" can interpret.
The conversion station should be able to handle the most common CAD formats and convert it first to HIMT's (Heidelberg Instruments) own format (called structure) and then into lic-files which are the data for each scan in "Heidi".
HIMT has written software for this conversion and it is running on a PC with SuSE Linux in our case.
