Excellence Centres
With the aim to provide innovative and profitable solutions in electronics, optics and communication technology Acreo has formed competence centers focusing on specific R&D areas.
This is along the strategy of the mother company of Acreo, Swedish ICT Research, which has denominated these centers as "SICT Excellence Centers". The motivation for focusing the R&D activities in these competence centers is to create networks where Acreo together with academia and industry can meet in collaboration projects, share resources and efficiently commercialise research results.
Institute Excellence Centers
Two centers at Acreo have been appointed "Institute Excellence Centers" by VINNOVA. Read more about the Vinnova program Institute Excellence Centers.
Acreo Fiber Optic Center
Developing and implementing fiber optic solutions and specialty optical fibers
IMAGIC - IMAGing Integrated Components
Focus on design, fabrication, and evaluation of semiconductor based detector and modulator modules at wavelengths ranging from Xray to far-IR.
SICT Excellence Centres
Gathering state of the art competence two other centers at Acreo have been approved for the title "SICT Excellence Center":
SICT Center IBBC
Covers transmission and networking as well as screen tests, and is based on the Acreo National Broadband Testbed.
CENTERPRISE
"Printed Electronics Excellence Center", will focus on printed electronics and bio-electronics with the aim of realising the idea of "ambient intellligence".
