System on a sheet

Examples of other activities at Acreo are the development of power sources (printed batteries and diodes) and printed/laminated push buttons, functions that are necessary in order to enable complete printed electronic systems. An example of such a system is the “System on a sheet”.

This system consists of one 7-segment display and three text displays. The displays are operated by push buttons indicated by number 1 to 3. The button R is a reset button for the 7-segment display. There are also printed transistors and resistors connected to the text displays. The power supply is a printed battery developed by Acreo. The bottom layer with displays, conducting lines, resistors, transistors and the battery is printed. The bottom and top layers are then laminated to complete the system including push buttons and encapsulation.

Acreo is part of Swedish ICT together with Interactive Institute, Santa Anna, SICS and Viktoria Institute.
