The European project CHARMING aims at developing compact and fully fibred visible lasers for fluorescence spectroscopy, high resolution co-focal microscopy and tryptophan imaging. These applications require
The project focus are the development of semiconductor laser sources in the 1.1 nm to 1.2 nm band, Bismuth and Raman amplifiers, pulse gating and wavelength conversion fiber based solutions.
Within CHARMING, Acreo develops pulse selection components, leveraging years of world leading research and development within electrooptic fibers and components.
Project objective: Developing compact and fully fibred visible lasers for fluorescence spectroscopy and high resolution confocal microscopy systems. See also the project factsheet and the project web.
Acreos main focus in the project: Development of functional fiber components for single pulse selection and their integration in high performance laser systems for biomedical imaging applications.
Project leader: Multitel.
Project members: Multitel (BE), Acreo (SE), FORC (RU), iX-Fiber (FR), Nanoplus (DE), Picoquant (DE) and Univ Southampton (UK).
Funding: European Commission, FP7, ICT.
