One of Acreo's key areas is technologies for Imaging Sensors and Systems for wavelengths that cannot be detected by our eye. Acreo's laboratories form the core of our research activities and serve as the incubator for many of the industrial spin offs from Acreo. Together with KTH, Linköping University, and Mid Sweden University Acreo operates these laboratories, which have since the year 2000 provided a pay off of about 50 times the funding for research (including spin off companies).
