What do you appreciate with Acreo?
Acreo has a professional organization without losing the so important research flexibility. This in combination with the versatile background of the coworkers and Acreos bridging function between academia and company makes the work environment very progressive and interesting. As a parent of a little boy I also appreciate that Acreo encourage parental leave and a good balance between work and family life.
Tell me about your job? What is the greatest challenge?
My focus is primarily on BioMEMS in both soft and hard materials. I try to apply our cleanroom processing technology to different bio applications, i.e. organized neuronal cell culturing and high sensitivity biomolecular sensing. The greatest challenge is to be the link between two different research areas, to get both parts to understand each other regarding possibilities as well as limitations.
What made you apply for job at Acreo? What attracted you?
Acreo and Linköping University have for a long time had a close collaboration. This gave me the opportunity to already from undergraduate level have good insight in Acreos research focus and especially the interdisciplinary bioresearch attracted my attention. When there was an opening for such an interdisciplinary position as a joint postdoc at Acreo/Karolinska Institutet I happily took the chance.
Acreo is part of Swedish ICT together with Interactive Institute, Santa Anna, SICS and Viktoria Institute.
