Tell me about your job? What is the greatest challenge?

Currently I am working in a VINNOVA funded research project about the quality of services and experience of 3DTV. Nowadays 3D videos are riding their success from cinema to home entertainment markets such as TV, DVD, Blu-ray, video games, etc. we are working on finding the proper way of transmission 3DTV over the network as well as investigating the impacts of network and video processes on perceived 3D visual quality. Meanwhile, I am also involved in two European 7th frame work project ALPHA and OASE where my colleagues and I working together with expertise from Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, etc. in the area of future optical access and home networks.

What made you apply for job at Acreo? What attracted you?

I applied for a job at Acreo for several reasons: firstly Acreo has good reputation in Swedish and European ICT research fields for her strong competencies, and she is well recognized and appreciated by many collaboration partners in European projects. Secondly, as a research institute Acreo in one hand acts like universities who publish papers and educate students, which enable me to have the opportunity of working as an industrial PhD student at Acreo but co-supervised Mid Sweden University; in the other hand Acreo acts as a company that has closer collaborations with industries, hence most of the work are practical and related to the state art of technologies, which industries can directly benefit from. Thirdly, the job is interesting, challenging and flexible. There are many research projects you can freely choose to participate according to your personal interest and career development. Last but not least, I did my Master thesis at Acreo in 2006, hence I had a close view of the company, which helped me made my decision to join Acreo without any hesitance.

Acreo is part of Swedish ICT together with Interactive Institute, Santa Anna, SICS and Viktoria Institute.
